While on a family holiday in Victoria in 1970 with her first camera, Cate spotted Colonel Saunders, ran over, took a shot, and a photographer was born.

The previous owner of Stone Fish Gallery, and an ardent promoter of photography, her work has been published and exists in many private collections. Equally at home on film sets, in the studio or in field documenting the international face of development, Cate finds balance in her work.

"Photography is about capturing a moment, but essentially, it is a surface that can express a human experience, a way of seeing, it is the space between the individual and reality. But really it's me, my life, and my subjects' lives."

Cate lives in the Vancouver area.
